Garrett and I went to the same high school together and rode the same bus. I became best friends with his sister and that is how Garrett and I got to know each other. On New Year’s Eve the Horn family was invited to my house. That night I confronted him. I told him that I knew that he had a crush on me and that he should just admit it. After that night I received several text messages from Garrett telling me how amazing I am, how beautiful I was, and how I was the girl of his dreams. Shortly after we started dating. Garrett and I had a lot of things in common hunting and fishing were on top on that list.
In 2013 Garrett and I part ways for a while. In May of 2014 Garrett and I end up at a party together where we connected. On June 18, 2014 after a Thompson Square concert Garrett and I start dating again. We have become best friends. We have supported each other dreams and have done many firsts together including shooting my first buck. Garrett completed the corrections officer’s academy and got a job working for Gratiot County. In May 2017 Garrett ask me to move in with him, and on June 1, 2017 we signed our first lease in Breckenridge, MI.
On February 12, 2018 I came home from skating practices and the house was dark. Garrett met me at the door and told me since we are both busy on Valentine’s Day that we were celebrating early. He told me to turn around, close my eyes, and put my hands over my eyes. He backed me through the house to the living room where he turned the lights on and told me to turn around. He was down on one knee with Hershey Kisses wrote out Marry Me! He asked me to marry him. I said yes! May 2018, we bought our first house together. From the very beginning I always knew I was going to marry Garrett. I can remember when I was in high school I was sitting at the dinner table and I looked at my mom and aunt and told them that one day I am going to marry that man!
